surprisingly superb stay!

i appreciated that my room had a fridge. the steam room and sauna access were included, which i used. there was plenty of parking available and the landscape was scenic. i found the buffet breakfasts excellent!!!
i think the hotel could consider providing robes for all hotel guests, not just those visiting for the day spa. it felt a little inconsistent.

the swimming pool was clean and well-kept. the spa area provided a relaxing atmosphere. the grounds included walking paths. the gym featured several cardio machines and weights.

my beautiful double room had a king-size bed with good quality linens. i noticed that a separate seating area and a work desk were available. the bathroom included a bathtub and a separate shower. fresh towels were provided daily.

the grounds were lovely, a definite plus.
The room needed a refurb. The bathroom floor had a huge burn in the tiles, unsightly, the heating system did not work properly, i couldn't get a table in the restaurant for dinner, dissapointing.

my room was quite a long walk from reception. there was minimal tea provided in my room. also, there was only one drinking glass despite me requesting another one.

The staff went out of their way to help us. i needed a taxi and the receptionist called even though there was a phone directly to the taxi company. i was allowed to leave my bags at the hotel after checkout. one receptionist gave us insight into winchester, including where to go. She even loaned us an umbrella!
I paid over £200 for a room, quite a walk away and felt detached. the room facilities were poor. There was only a standard sachet of nescafe with one tiny biscuit. i could not order room service. I had to go downstairs to order it myself.

The staff were great too assist me. I needed a taxi and the receptionist called instead of just pointing to a phone. When I checked out, they allowed me to leave my bags. Another receptionist even gave me local insight and loaned me an umbrella because rain was evident.
The pool and gym felt inadequate given the hotel size. The breakfast one morning had slow service and poor restocking. Guests chose between salad, bacon, sausages, and eggs to avoid the wait. Room service did not replenish tea bags or towels.
